HAYWOOD COUNTY COMIC CON
Devin Hodges and Cade (from his book, Common Days of Cade) will be manning the MSCA Booth at the Haywood Comic Con.
He’ll have copies of the MSCA “The Good, The Bad, And The Sketchy” anthology zine, as well as some MSCA promo items on hand.
This west Tennessee con (between Covington and Jackson) celebrates Pop culture with activities centered around comics, TV shows, movies, video games and other forms of art and fiction. The event features panel discussions, artists, writers, cosplay and more. The con will be held at March 9 – 10, 2024, at College Hill Complex, 127 N Grand Ave., Brownsville, TN 38012. Admission is $12 for a day pass, or $18 for a 2 day pass.
The MSCA’s Katie Jones will also be a guest artist during this Haywood County con.
You can see her at the Lamplighter Market Jan 28th from 2 to 6pm. She’ll have prints, snazzy lovey-dovey ornaments, and working on comic stuffs. @lamplighterloungememphis
Haywood Comic Con is presented by the Brownsville Arts Council in collaboration with Visit Brownsville TN. Their goal is to present various art forms to local underserved community, including visual, performance and cultural arts – growing and expanding their programming to stay relevant and in tune with a diverse audience. The event is made possible through a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission.
Midtown Con #3 is happening on Saturday, April 27th at Black Lodge on Cleveland (near Crosstown Concourse). Comics, Records, Toys, Gaming, Cosplay, Horror, Sci-fi, Fantasy. If you sell comics, toys or records please contact them about being a vendor – MidtownCon38104@gmail.com
The next Memphis Public Libarary Comic Con will be Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library, 3030 Poplar Ave, from 10am until 3pm (or as late as people stop coming).
Special comics guests will be Matt Wagner and Gene Ha!!
Matt Wagner is an American comics artist and writer who is best known for his creator owned series Mage and Grendel. He has worked on comics featuring the Demon, Madame Xanadu, the Sandman, Zorro, Green Hornet, and Sandman Mystery Theatre. He wrote and drew Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman: Trinity a limited series featuring DC’s three major heroes in 2003. Also known ffor his distinguished runs as the cover artist for Kevin Smith’s Green Arrow comic series for DC.
GeneHa is an American comics artist and writer best known for his work on books such as Top 10 and Top 10: The Forty-Niners, with Alan Moore and Zander Cannon, for America’s Best Comics, the Batman graphic novel Fortunate Son, with Gerard Jones, and The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix, among others. He has also drawn Global Frequency and has drawn covers for Wizard and Marvel Comics. He was awarded the 1994 Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award, and won four Eisner Awards, in 2000, 2001, 2006, and 2008. (Wikipedia)

Last year SEVERAL Mid-South Cartoonists Association (MSCA) members were in attendance, and can attest to how much fun it was to have a table or just attend.
